PLL Weekend: The Archers Unveil Another Championship Banner

After a close win against Chaos, the Utah Archers came back home to Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, UT, for one of the most exciting weekends of the PLL season. This weekend was more than just two games—it was a celebration. The Archers played the Redwoods on Friday (July 25) and the Outlaws on Saturday (July 26), while also honoring their second straight PLL Championship with a banner-raising in front of a packed crowd.

Banner Ceremony & Atmosphere

Before the action started, the Archers had a special moment: they raised another championship banner in front of a roaring full house to commemorate their back‑to‑back titles. The energy inside the stadium was electric and set up for a great weekend of lacrosse.

Day 1: July 25

Game 1: Archers vs. Redwoods

Utah kicked off the weekend against the California Redwoods. In a tight battle, the Redwoods escaped with a 9‑8 win. TD Ierlan led the charge with a strong 13/19, 68.4% FO performance. The offense was powered by Dylan Molloy and Chris Kavanagh, who both tallied three goals and two assists. The win also snapped a 5-game losing streak and gave Redwoods new momentum heading into the rest of the season.

Game 2: Atlas vs. Whipsnakes

Atlas handled business on the road against the Whipsnakes with a convincing 11-8 score.  From the goalies to the offense, everyone came to play. Liam Entenmann had a 71.4% save percentage allowing the offense to do what they do best. Each of the Atlas starting attack played a significant roll with Jeff Teat leading the way with 7 assists. Not far behind them were Connor Shellenberger and Xander Dickson with 3 points apiece. The win secured Atlas a playoff spot and top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Day 2: July 26

Game 1: Chaos vs. Waterdogs

The Carolina Chaos pulled off a thrilling 15–14 overtime win against the Philadelphia Waterdogs. In a back-and-forth battle, both teams traded momentum with neither side gaining more than a two-goal lead. The Chaos looked set to take control late, but the Waterdogs forced overtime with a clutch goal in the final minutes. After trading chances Carolina rookie Jackson Eicher capitalized in OT, sealing the win in dramatic fashion and finishing the night with 5 goals and 1 assist. Rookie CJ Kirst also scored his first PLL goal, adding a special moment to an already electric matchup. The win gives the Chaos a huge confidence boost heading into the playoff push.

Game 2: Archers vs. Outlaws

The Denver Outlaws pulled off a commanding win, defeating the Utah Archers 15–10. Denver erupted in the second half, relentlessly taking control and silencing the home crowd. Outlaws stars Pat Kavanagh and Brennan O’Neill led the charge with 6 points each. Utah struggled to respond without key contributors. Logan McNaney’s goaltending helped anchor Denver’s second-half surge. The win gave Denver valuable momentum and securing #1 seed in the Western Conference, while Utah returned home with more questions than answers.

Moving Forward: What to expect

As the dust settles in Herriman, the Archers’ homecoming weekend was a mix of celebration and hard lessons. The banner may have reminded fans of past glory, but the on-field results showed just how competitive this year’s PLL season has become. With the playoffs approaching, Utah will need to regroup quickly and find consistency on both ends of the field. Meanwhile, teams like the Outlaws and Chaos are peaking at the right time—proving that no lead is safe and no outcome is certain. One thing is clear: the road to the PLL Championship is wide open, and the final stretch of the regular season is set to deliver fireworks.
